The Story Behind Your SkinAngel

Your SkinAngel was created by Mariam Badavi, a mum of three and skincare professional, with a passion for helping children understand how to protect and care for their skin from an early age.

Mariam’s passion for prevention began through her experience working on a hospital skin cancer ward, where she saw first-hand the impact skin cancer could have on patients and their families. It left her determined to help educate children about looking after their skin before problems begin.

The journey first began in 2013 as Your SkinAngel, bringing simple, practical skin and sun-safety education to young people. The project was later put on hold during the Covid period, but the passion behind it never went away.

Missing what Your SkinAngel had stood for, Mariam decided to bring the idea back to life with a fresh new identity, rebranding it as Your SkinAngel. This new chapter led to writing and self-publishing The Big Sunny Adventure, a children’s book designed to make sun safety fun, positive and easy to remember.

Today, Your SkinAngel continues to grow through books, school visits and products, all with one simple belief at its heart:

Mission

My goal is to help children understand how to look after themselves and build healthy habits that can last a lifetime.

With people still losing their lives to melanoma every day in the UK, I want to play a small part in changing that future through early education and prevention. 

Today, Your SkinAngel continues to grow through books, UV awareness bracelets and School visits, helping children learn important healthy habits in a fun and memorable way.
